After a killer day yesterday we manage to sleep until 10.30. Still no news from the girls in Sarajevo. No news is good news, so we made a cop of coffee. Bib Bib it said, the Bosnien simcards are being used. “Do you guys wanna come and see the university?” it said on Sørens phone. Of course we would. and half an hour later we were sitting in a 25 square meter room, with no air, not enough tables or chaires for the about 45 students. People were sitting in the windows, on the floor and on top of each other to fit into the room. It didn’t make it much better that me and Anders joint the lecture. Again people just smiles and welcome you.
The class was English History in English, so no problems with the language. Maybe not the most interesting class for two kaospilots to attend but suddently magic happend. The professore was teaching about the democratic system in England, and wanted to make parallels with the Bosnien. So he asked the class: who is our prim-minister? -No answer! -Do we have a prim-minister? -No answer. some jokes were made, people were laughing and me and Anders were choked! In the brake we asked the students about why they were not interested in their own government. The answer we got was that it is boring, it is not democracy it is Etno-cracy they called it. Where ministers get chosen by their ethnical background and not how many people in the public that votes for them. Scary to hear. a detail we missed out in our research. what a start of a day! it’s not over yet. lets see what happens!
